Jag35 d|focus belt drive follow focus

We recently purchased a d-focus from the awesome people at Jag35. At the same time we have been trying to get a stepper motor belt driven follow focus going out of open source software and off the shelf components. While we were waiting to get CNC parts to arrive, we went ahead and ordered a set from jag35. Turn around was pretty quick. The unit arrived within a week of ordering. Upon arrival I went ahead and removed the standard gear and replaced it with a timing belt pulley with a .2 pitch. I got this part from mcmaster.com for a few dollars. I got a timing belt with a .2pitch and about 70 teeth from eBay for about $8. Not bad for a more universal setup. We’ve tried this new drive with a Yashinon 50mm f1.4 which has a stiffer manual focus mechanism compared to the canon 50mm f1.4 USM. So far so good. Everything focuses smoothly. I might have to get a bigger pulley so I can get a better gear ratio. I’ve shot a couple videos demonstrating how it works:
